Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $58,608.12
Mid = $73,260.15
Max = $87,912.18

Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Supervisor, under the direction of the Manager, provides day-to-day support to the staff within their area of responsibility. Must demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate verbal or written expectations; outline goals and objectives for all levels of staff within the team to achieve success. The specific job duties will be comprised of a combination of responsibilities from among the various areas of Revenue Cycle operations including, payer billing, accounts receivable collections and payer follow-up, payer denial review and appeals processing, customer service, payment applications, credit balance review and resolution and patient advocacy and risk management. The position is an expert-level position with a superior background in hospital and/or professional patient accounting and an extensive knowledge of billing and reimbursement requirements of healthcare payers. The Supervisor must have a strong working knowledge of Provider Based Billing regulations.

Responsibilities:

Ensure staff follows up on outstanding claims and charges in follow-up work queues and on various reports by contacting insurance or government carriers and/or patients for status, including correspondence, payment application and credit resolution. Ensure staff rebills underpayments, appeals denials and turns them into payments. Audits accounts for proper payment, coding, balances, adjustment etc, utilizing appropriate reports and work queues to do so. Actively monitor all Account Level, Charge Review and Claim Edit work queues within their control for staff compliance.

Works with Manager to establish clear goals and objectives for team. Conducts huddles and/or meetings to discuss results and progress made on identified goals. Develops, recommends and presents training needs and solutions for performance problems.

Responsible for coaching employees towards success and is the first layer of disciplinary action in routine performance issues. Consults with the management in matters of non-routine staffing and discipline. Empowers employees to recognize how their work affects the organization overall.

Completes the Employee Performance Appraisal for team and actively participates in employee review meetings with Manager.

Responsible for completing the timekeeping system to ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll. Documents tardies and absences in employee files and initiates progressive counseling per department/organizational policies. Approves time-off requests from staff as appropriate.

Assist in the training of all new employees to ensure knowledge and skills essential for effective job performance are acquired. Provide continuous training and education to all staff related to new department policies, changes in coding rules, changes in insurance requirements/regulations etc.

Provides daily support for computer applications; coordinates and performs first level troubleshooting. Prepare IT ticket(s) and consult with Manager as needed.

Lead and mentor Revenue Cycle Specialists during the onboarding process to ensure all new hires have an effective and positive experience.?

Associates degree in a related field required.

Job Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry with emphasis on Revenue Cycle processes.

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible billing and/or collection of medical claims experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • 1+ years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital/ ambulatory business office environment is preferred.

  • Computer proficiency. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification or Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) is preferred.

  • Epic EHR experience is preferred.

Attends 4+ Link education session within fiscal year.

Completion and presentation of an A3 or process improvement/cost savings project.
